Comment on "Bike your way to a fitter, happier you"

Normally I wouldn't put a negative comment on an article encouraging cycling, but I'm pissed off at almost being killed today, in the same way that I am almost killed several times a month, due to the City of Vancouver's plan to kill off cyclists with death traps like roundabouts that cars can fly through and run over cyclists who think they are safe on a 'designated bike route.'

"I bike to work every day in Vancouver, but am getting tired of almost getting killed once a week or so. Maybe the city could put stop signs for cars crossing major bike routes, instead of removing stop signs and building those hazardous roundabouts?
Pedestrians get sidewalks that cars can't drive on, why not make separated bike lanes for cyclists that cars can't drive or park on? Not just a few token ones downtown.
I definitely want to keep fit by cycling to work, but if I end up in a body cast because the city won't provide safe infrastructure, only lip-service, for cycling, then I would be in better shape sitting on my butt on the bus or in a car."
